Samcham Holdings Limited, a Nigerian company that provides clearing, shipping, haulage, and petroleum products retail services, has won the prestigious Seatrade Award for Investment in People. The award, which is in endorsement of the International Maritime Organization’s World Maritime Day 2021 theme ‘Seafarers’, celebrates a significant contribution to the welfare of the industry’s most valuable asset, its people.
Samcham was among the finalists for the award, which were announced on October 5, 2021. The winners were revealed at a virtual ceremony on November 3, 2021. Samcham was recognized for its efforts to support its staff and seafarers during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included providing personal protective equipment, health insurance, financial assistance, mental health counseling, and online training.
